Many years ago, back in college, my cousin's cat bit my hand. Like, she really sunk all those fangs in around the base of my thumb. I didn't realize how big a deal it was for potential infection. I squirted some iodine on it, and called it good. I know now that I was lucky. It was super painful for a good week.
I hate that cat. Evil thing is still alive.

Nope. Not even gonna try. I can put down a sick animal ... wouldn't be the first time. I don't know how many hamsters or injured birds I've "done in" over the years, but it's more than I care to count. The hardest was a pair of very small baby bunnies that Mama had started to snack on, but it was the only kind thing to do, so I made it happen.

I don't keep that many chickens - currently only about 20, including four chicks - so I know them all "personally." Nearly all of the chicks we hatch and raise go to 4H youngsters who want to help save the Nankin breed. The 50/50 hatching ratio generally keeps the extra males to a minimum. Those that do stay live happily and forever in my bachelor flock. It currently numbers eight, with three, maybe four, scheduled to go to other breeders as soon as travel resumes. I don't ship, so it's strictly pick up or meet-up for delivery and the new owners aren't comfortable traveling, yet. Hopefully they'll still want their fellows when this lets up a bit.

So, at least for the foreseeable future and unless I end up somewhere I can raise birds in a large enough quantity to not get so attached, my birds are all about eggs and eye candy ... and that's okay with me!

I’m lucky Luna is a very gentle, loving cat. She doesn’t bite or use claws unless it’s absolutely necessary. Even then it’s just like a swat lol she much prefers to yell at you and she lets the vets and groomers do anything they want to her. They all say she’s the most well behaved cat they’ve seen one time I couldn’t find her crate so just took her in on a leash and she legit just chilled on the receptionists desk and didn’t want to leave when I put her down to sign the receipt she just laid down lol

i was starting to get worried that after I ordered it, that there might be some ordinance (aside from byc rules) that may prevent you from wearing it outside!!

I'm sure it's all good as long as there's a mask (& ideally goggles) involved.

I found out - the hard way - that the "Certificate of Live Birth" given to my parents WHEN I WAS BORN doesn't count. It has to be an honest-to-goodness, pay-extra-money-and-wait-in-line-for-it Birth Certificate! ZHEESH!!

Wait until you have to get a speshul one with the speshul bumpy stamp from a place that was recently hit by a bad hurricane. 4 month wait.
Thankfully my DL was current, I was merely trying to register a new vehicle so my dealer's people went to the DMV and took care if it personally for me.

How the hell do you eat a cat burrito without getting bit yourself? You must be REALLY good at that. I’d definitely want my .45 next to the plate if I tried roll a purrito.

I miss mine

I miss my little roos, too, but you know, it's gots to be done. I processed a hen this morning. Caught her eating the eggs she had been sitting on last night. I do not miss her. She always was kind of... I dunno... surly? Anyway she was nice & fat.

Yeah I know but I loved listening to the quail crows! They’re so pretty compared to chicken ones haha and now they don’t make like any noise

And oh boy!!! Sounds like good riddance haha
