I don't know what you are talking about but I am going to guess that my current driver's license is not real so I need to prove more shit that I have never had to prove in the past 20 years.

Basically, changes were made at the federal level that altered what documentation is required to get a driver’s license. Non-compliant (old) licenses will eventually no longer be usable as proof of identity in some circumstances (like at the airport etc.)
