My flock freeranges....inside my fence in the suburbs. I've gotta admit I like being a good neighbor, and my neighbor's lawn is exceptional! Mine, of course, is mainly dirt due to my hens. Does anyone have any experience with kikuyu grass in the midwest (Missouri)? I've read that it is incredibly chicken tolerant but can't handle the cold. If not Kikuyu, then any experience with another chicken tolerant grass? Thanks

Did a quick google as I'd never heard of it....hard to know if it will grow well in your climate.
You'd probably have to fence the birds away from it until it was well established, cause they can scratch up just about anything.
