If you had started this post calling them cockroaches, we would have sympathized quicker. But palmetto bugs? I pictured something sparkly, soft butter-yellow, with a sweet scent and the faint strains of a ukulele.

It's true..."palmetto bug"= honkin' huge roach. It's what you call them in polite company. They are indeed impressive. But.. for savage amusement, try dealing with a giant water bug down the back of your shirt.

Me too!! I was thinking a new strain of fly perhaps a ladybug type of setup. but a cockroach?!?!? Ahhhhh!!!

BTW the pic with the "palmetto" bug on the nose... EEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWW

LOL, they are not german roaches (small) which are from being dirty.

These are palmetto bugs, due to our oak trees. Hence, they look just like roaches but on steriods and they very fly! Was warned but never knew how big they get!! And they stalk you, taunt you and are really gross! Our bathroom is under repair and they get in through a hole. I almost died!!!

And if one flew at you in the night , you'd &%#$

! My chickens love to eat them!!!
