I just had a 5 yr old hen die right after I soaked/cleaned her butt.... She has been looking less than good, noticed "pasty butt" yesterday and decided to give her a warm soak to clean her. She acted like she enjoyed it to start then became a bit agitated, I spent a bit more time to get her clean, took her out, wrapped in towel, she started panting and died moments later :(. Is that a "too much stress" thing or??? I'm feeling awful, thought I was helping her. Any thoughts? thx.

Sorry, I have no idea, but I am sure it feels awful.

I am so sorry. That's horrible. I've definitely seen posts like this before, so don't be quick to blame yourself. 5 years old is a nice long life. I'm guessing she had something else going on, especially if you were treating a dirty behind. The bath may have put her over the edge, but honestly, I would have done the same thing in trying to help her. :hugs
