Killing an old chicken

Hello,

I have a six year old chicken that is not doing well. She cannot walk anymore and now also cannot stand up anymore. She stopped eating. I can't bring myself to killing her. Is there someone that can come and do it for me? Any other suggestions? I don't want her to suffer too much longer. Thank you !

Do you have any friends that hunt? If so ask if he/she can shoot her for you.
I have 3 different friends who I can ask and have helped me out. A long gun .22 shot directly into her head will get the job done quickly. I have my terminally ill or injured birds euthanized this way after dusk. I take them to the spot it will be done a distance from my property and gently lay her on the ground. She won't move around in the dark then I walk away and my friend ends her suffering.

I am thinking she will soon be gone. She probably is more closer to a coma than in agony. Keep her in a dark area so that she is not bothered by the others.

Do you have any freinds with chickens that would do it? Or you could go to a vet to do it.(I wouldn't cause I dont take chickens to the vet but others do ?
