I'm bracing myself for two hours of absolute insanity on the next two days.
For several years now, I've had this arrangement with the owner of a couple of toy stores. My baby bunnies do guest appearances at Eastertime. The store owner has an area cordoned off for us, and personnel assigned to help keep things under control. This year, I only have about a dozen bunnies, and they are much younger than I like them to be for this (my does came up with a new way to drive me crazy this year!) The store owner is going to try to keep the numbers down so the bunnies don't get overwhelmed, but I imagine there will still be more young'uns than I can shake a stick at.
Hopefully, not too bad. The owner said she's going to try to limit us to 25 kids per half hour, and she didn't do anywhere near as much publicity as she has done. It has been a real zoo in the past. Everything from older kids that are almost too cool to cuddle the bunnies, to babies that haven't a clue. Toddler meltdowns galore, of course. Fortunately, the kids' parents are right there with them, so we have someone who knows just what to expect from each child with them (I couldn't imagine doing this at a preschool!) I usually like to have one group of bunnies being played with, and at least as many chillin' off to one side in a cage, waiting to take their turn. They usually take it pretty well, some really seem to enjoy the attention!
