As a teenager, I loved rollercoasters, the Octopus, and that sort of thing, but I just can't take 'em anymore! The kids talked me into riding the tilt-a-whirl with them a couple of years ago, but nope! Never again! Maybe my inner ears scramble too easily now, but it's just not fun anymore.

JD, I reckon everybody has to do something like that at least once, and hopefully live to tell about it. 60 mph on a bicycle was more than fast enough for me!

Not only did the tilt-a-whirl make me nauseous, but there also were two really big ladies - one on either side of me. The centrifugal force piled them on top of me and I thought that I was going to be suffocated.

How would they put that in an obituary? Death by ?//

Several years ago a guy from the area was killed when a turkey buzzard flew into him causing him to crash his motorcycle. Always though his obit should have been 'Death by Buzzard.'

Ooh, boy! A couple of days ago, I saw a guy that came uncomfortably close to making the obit page. As I was driving on the 4-lane near my house, I became aware that there was something large lying in the left-hand lane of the oncoming traffic in an intersection ahead of me. When I got closer, I realized the object was a motorcyclist (and his bike). Evidently he had just had a collision with an SUV. As there were already a dozen or so people in the road and on the shoulder with cell phones stuck to their ears, I thought the most useful thing I could do was get out of the way (and pray!) I was hugely relieved to see that the accident didn't even make the police blotter in the local paper the next day. As nasty as it had looked, the guy apparently wasn't seriously hurt - though his bike looked like a write-off.
