I know they are very beneficial. But, also very costly and frustrating.

Thanks to everyone for your help in identifying it. Most of what I see have small yellow specks on a black body or just black. This was the first that looked like this one.
My rat snakes here look exactly like the one in the photo. I think they vary slightly in different parts of the state. Just found one day before yesterday in a fence post smashy-hammery-long-thing (forgot the proper name for it😂) it looked identical to the one in your photo, except it was alive and thoroughly pissed from being used to knock T-posts into the ground.

There are a lot of variations in the color of rat snakes, but that's what it is. I get one with a lot of red like that every so often.
