Oh I know about not finding them. No body seems to have the little boogers. I was on a wait list for nearly two years to get mine. And I was only going to get one doe. But luck would have it, the breeder that we talked to had some family issues, and couldn't take care of them for a while. She really liked us, so she offered a huge part of her herd to us.

The others when to her other friends.

So I ended up with a buck, and 5 does from her.

I live about 6 hours from the biggest Kinder breeder also. And I still can't get my hands on some. lol. So I can imagine it's even harder for everyone else. I picked up a buck there last year. Who is Kody.

Hopefully since we are now friends, I will be buying a few more does from her in april. Can't wait.

I was going to try producing my own line of spotted kinders, and start with Nubian/Pygmy. I bought a awesome show pygmy, and reserved some nubian does.

But two weeks ago, my Pygmy got sick, and quickly passsed away.

First goat we have ever lost. His going, put us back alot. And we may or may not find another this year. So we might just forget about the spotted ones for now.

Sad news. Both babies airplane ears have dropped. I think they got frostbite at birth. When I found them they were warm and dry. But apparently the damage has been done. Nothing I can do except pray they don't loose their ears like meg. They are so cute, although loosing the tips of their ears will do nothing except look funny, they may not be wanted by others just for cosmetic reasons. It seems slight, so it will be a wait and see thing. They are both such dolls, poor dears. They are sleeping in with the herd tonight. Because two other does are due within the next three days.

Meg, and Sara Rabbit are both in the kidding stall. Estimating the time we took the buck out they should go within three days, otherwise they won't be kidding for two weeks. And their udders couldn't last that long. So we should have babies in the next few days.

We are suspecting one kid with meg, maybe two if we are lucky. And three kids from Sara, four if we are lucky. She is huge! And comes from a birth of 4!

I'll keep you updated.

We were watching barn cam, and a mouse was in the stall eating their spilled grain.

We have 4 outside cats! That hunt all the time. Sara Rabbit seen it and jumped up, and it ran away. Gr. Darn rodents. Those cats better quit slacking.

The does may go tonight. Meg's ligs were a little loose earlier, and her udder is tight tight tight.

Sara looks like a blimp.

She is wider than her height.

Well at 2pm today, my father came in and told me Meg was crying.

I went outside to investigate, and it was the weirdest thing.

Meg was walking, she literately laid down for 30 seconds, popped out a baby, stood back up and just walked on over to me.

She seemed completely unaware that anything had happened. I got in and rubbed down the baby. Meg didn't even glance my way. When she finally did turn, she approached to see what I was doing. She stretched out her neck, and took one sniff. Then freaked out, and backed away like it was some horrible monster. The baby stood, and I got it towards Meg. Her eyes were wide, and I hung onto her while the baby looked for food. She ripped around and head butted her poor little darling. She had absolutely no clue what it was or what it was doing. She didn't seemed affected by birth at all, she was acting completely normal, and just interested in getting some food.

Weird. I've never seen an animal not even act like they just birthed.

She was threatening, so I took the baby inside. I milked her twice today, and saved the Colostrum for the next babies.

Looks like a have a bottle buck. He is such a cutie, and a sweetie. And HUGE. It weighs 5 pounds. Which doesn't seem like much, but he is at least double the twins there were born a few days ago. And he is all legs!

Only minutes old.

The picture doesn't do justice. But he is so cool looking. All his hair is black, but the ends are brown. So he appears brown but if you pet him it's black undertoned. And the top of him is black. He has also got black facial stripes. I wish I could keep him. But I already have decided on keeping Jasper. And I don't have any does I could breed him to. So he will be for sale. He needs a great home. He would make an awesome herd sire. I just love him!

Sara is still in the kidding stall. I hope she goes tonight. I'm working until 9 tomorrow. And everyone else will be working all night.

I would hate to miss it. We are going to be bottle feeding her babies. Looks like I will be up all night tonight. So far no signs of kidding.

She has to go between now and the 3rd. So come on sara!

To cute! I had a doe react that way about her baby once, I didn't make it out til a few minutes after she'd had her, she was munching her hay completely oblivious to the baby laying a few feet away. But get it near her and she completely freaked out! Goats are funny sometimes. You'll have to find the little guy a great home!

I'm enjoying following this thread. Thanks for the updates.
Was Meg a bottle baby? I wonder if some of the moms that abandon their newborn do so because they never nursed as babies?
I hope you pulled Meg from the kidding stall so she doesn't bother Sara's babies.
Your goats are beautiful! Keep the pics coming!

Meg was a bottle baby. But the weird thing is. We have been putting her in with all my other babies, kind of like a foster mom. And she has been really good with them. We seperate babies from moms at night so we can milk in the morning. And to keep predators away we leave Meg in with them. She doesn't great? But with her own baby she freaked. Strange.

Yeah Meg is back in with the herd. Nothing has happened yet with Sara.

Gosh this baby is about to drive me insane. If I'm not holding him he cries nonstop. He kept us awake all night. sigh. I wish the other babies would hurry up and get here.
