Kindling question....

My doe is about to kindle. Today is day 30.... I gave her a nice wooden nest box Sunday afternoon. She proceeded to kick out about half the shavings that are in it, but no nest yet.

Tonight when I gave her some grass hay, she immediately scooped it up and ran to the corner and proceeded to build a nest with it.

I lost her last litter to the wire and not having a box for her, my stupid mistake. I'm afraid if she builds her nest next to the box with grass hay that I'll lose the kits again. Anybody ever had this happen? What do you do when they don't use or won't use the nest box?

Any advice is welcome.

Sorry, I know nothing about rabbits (which is only my guess as to what you're talking about). Only advice I can offer is to make her unable to anywhere with wire floors or to put plywood or similar in the box until she does have her babies.
