We have 6 baby king quails that have hatched and been raised by their parents in the bottom of our aviary.

The dad has been amazing- he helped incubate them and three weeks later is still helping out with caring for them. At what age though would he potentially see them as rivals (if any chicks are male) and need to seperate them? Their wing feathers have come through so they look like mini-adults at the moment.

King quails reach full sexual maturity at around 6 weeks old. Sometimes a couple can attack adult females as well, sometimes they all get along without problems. I'd keep a close eye on them as they reach adulthood and are weaned (the mother will begin to leave them alone more and more).
If you prefer separating them anyhow, you can separate them in couples or in only male/female groups (but in the second option the two groups must not see eachother)
