Hi, I'm new to the platform I was wondering if I could raise my painted king quail in plastic bins. Would that be a good enclosure for them?
Considering that the bin would have ventilation in it.
Thank you for any replies.

A lot of people use bins to grow their poultry in the beginning. It's just important to put the heat to one side so they can go to the other to escape it. Put their food/water on the cooler side.

This will only work for about two or three weeks or so though, so do you have an aviary or pen for them once they outgrow the bin? If not, there's a lot of ideas on BYC what you can do.

We have a lot of articles members wrote about keeping quail. I'm sure you'll find a couple that can help you.

Good luck!

I have kept them in 50 gallon bins with hardware cloth tops and windows. They have a much better home now, but they'll do if you don't have anything else.

One bin is a decent home for one pair of king quail.

OK thank you that's what I was thinking.
