Before the leader said another word, Solviss quickly sat up and interrupted. "I don't mean to be rude but Winter's past is a mystery. Please no more questions." He started to rub Winter's hair with his left hand.

Startled, he quickly looked over and replied, "Oh, uh... " Solviss paused because he couldn't say he was the prince of their rivaling kingdom, he agreed to keep his identity a secret while in K'val. So, he decided to lie, "I'm just a scholar from the Arobus Mountains. I've come to study your culture."
The leader took his words without suspicion of bluffing. "It's very nice to have you among us then."

There were piles of colourful shells and smooth pebbles scattered neatly around the cave. She pulled herself up on the ledge of the cave that used up half of the space. She set the shells she had collected at the corner near a cluster of barnacles that made there home there
