My Kirby is about two weeks old and getting in his feathers quite nicely, when I first bought him he was sweet and always wanted to be held...but, now he is a little devil, he is getting the rooster attitude, he's becoming very independent although he still follows behind me. He just hates being held.

Also, when I put my hand in his box he stands up real tall and chirps at me.

Here's a view of his comb:

I took that photo 2 days ago, and I noticed today that it isn't as skin colored it has a red tint on the top of the comb - I could be wrong but I'm thinking I have a little cockerel.

Also, I have a question - he seems to rub his beak on the floor a lot, like he's trying to get something off, however when I check him over there is nothing there. Is that something I shouldn't be concerned about? At the beginning of the week he was sneezing a lot to, but I think that was due to him getting water in his nose, because these pass two days he hasn't sneezed. Other than that, he's eating like a pig and growing big.

No, not really. Kirby is happy and healthy and I LOVE him to death, every year people buy dyed chicks, not to mention the dye is harmless. If you don't like it, please do not spam my post. I'm looking for answers - not immaturity. Thank you.

I read that rubbing their beaks on the ground is a natural behavior, it keeps their beaks trimmed.

as for gender, well just have to wait and see, it's a little too early for me.

My babies do the beak-rubbing thing too- after the millionth time I wrestled one and checked it and found nothing, I've learned to just let it go! Cute pic!

I didnt witness spamming.... I witnessed people giving their opinion - it usually happens on forums.
I am not in favor of dying a chick either.

As for your question, I think you have to wait a little longer to be able to tell if its a he/she. At least in my opinion.
