My husband went to the grocery store today and when he got out of his car, he heard a kitten. He looked around the parking lot, under some cars and couldn't find where the meowing was coming from. Then a lady got out of her car and they both listened and finally figured it was coming from a clothes donation bin. The opening was too high for either of them to see to the bottom of the bin and definitely too small for my husband to get in. They got someone from the grocery store to get a ladder and a young man that worked at the store was thin enough to get through the opening and get the kitten. The kitten was about 6 weeks old and thank goodness had not suffered any from the heat. The kitten could not have been in there long and survived. It got to 95 degrees here today. I won't begin to say what I think of the person that put that kitten in the bin and only wished that someone had seen them do it. Wouldn't have been pretty if my husband had seen them. He was still fuming when he got home. The lady with my husband was very nice and wanted to take the kitten home with her. I'll never understand how someone can live with them self when they commit such a heartless act.
