I have two 8wk old Siamese Mix kittens. We got them from a rescue woman about a week ago. The one kitty was a little strange acting & seemed very mellow, not moving much. Now, he has gotten severe diarrhea & his gums are pure white. I cant tell if the skin on the scruff of his neck stays up or goes back down because he has longer hair. He is also VERY skinny. The rescue woman gave us a letter from the vet they were seen by, stating that they were of 100% health & had their shots. We also notice now that the other kitty has a tumor like thing on his belly.. I am absolutely irate right now ! She told us that they were healthy. These cats do not look too healthy to me now. She had only had them with her for two days before we took them, because they were found in an abandoned house & sent to her rescue. What should I do ?! I called her & left a message, but i want to speak to her NOW. I think its time for me to count to 10... 1, 2 , 3 ..

OK.... first off I was a vet tech 8 years before I became a mom, so I do know a little about what I am going to tell you.
When you look at the "letter" is it just that a letter or is it actual records? If they are a copy of what they did look for if they did a fecal and de-worming. The one that has diarrhea needs fluids! You need to take it to the vet. He sounds anemic and very sick.
As far as the other one goes, get a fecal done. Some cheap wormers only kill round worm and not hooks, ect.
Good luck!

Yes, fluids ASAP. If your vet doesn't have emergency call, get some pedialyte and try to get some down him/her. NO COW's MILK! As for the white gums, yes, it is an indicator of SEVERE anemia! The "tumor like thing" on the one cat's belly could be an umbilical hernia where the umbilical cord may not have healed completely. Sounds like these poor kitties DEFINITELY need a vet visit, and fast.

That is true! I missed that part ! I am so focused on the one that has the white gums! As for the hernia, it is not a major problem, quite common, but it will need to be surgically repaired.
