Knee replacement - need your good thoughts

I get to go in Monday and have my left knee replaced.

I had the right knee replaced last year same time, and really like it now.

I know that in 6 months I will be saying 'why didn't I get this done sooner' but I'm really not looking forward to the process of getting there.

I feel like such a weenie sometimes.

Oh you beat me to the whole "I should have done this sooner" thing!!! You KNOW you'll be so happy you're doing this now!

Get in there with all our happy thoughts trailing behind you and get home and do ALL your exercises!!!

Good luck. Do EXACTLY what your therapists tell you to do. If you hurt TELL THEM!! My Dad had both of his done at the same time about 14 years ago, he is a HAPPY man, he grew 3 inches taller when they were done due to being so bow legged! lol

My Mom had her hip replaced this past spring and she LOVES it! Now she needs her knee done because she overworked it due to the bad hip, and is waiting until the hip it totally healed to have the knee done!!

Oh, I will! I was my therapist's and surgeon's prize patient. I worked very hard on my right knee and think it is great! My therapist will make you hurt, though.

Your Dad must be one tough guy.

I'm not woman enough to have both knees done at the same time!

My husband had both of his knees done last year, six weeks apart. His first, the right was much easier but the left wasn't too shabby.

His secret was to do therapy at home. I used to "torture" him by pushing down, helping him bend, doing wall slides, putting books on his foot when he was laying on his stomach with his knee being off the bed.... many many ways of torture.

He has 135/140 degrees of motion in both knees. He loves it.

It's all about the homework.
