I want to make the girls next door some hats; they are 6, 5, and 2. They have some really fluffy curly hair.
My question is which loom, the 41 peg or the 36 peg? The 41 peg eventually seems too big even on me, but the 36 seems small.
I also did not really pay attention when I had a small child because he would not wear a hat. Are kid heads smaller?

That's kind of what I thought, in that they have some voluminous hair and all.
I Figure: they will keep the girls warm this winter, carry puppies around in them this spring, plant flowers in them in the summer and I will make them some more for next winter.

Thank you for the reply.

I always use the green loom (36) for all my hats, it works for all hair types. I also use lion brand yarn the homespun for the girl's hat, and just worsted weight yarn for the boy's hats. I love the knifty knitter.

Thank you.
I have had fun with them. I am knot challenged and yet I seem to be able to do anything I want on these. I even was able to figure out how to knit a leaf to go ontop of a lemon colored hat. I am just not that talented. I give credit to the the looms.
I think I will try the green one for the youngest girl , and then do a fit test. It ruins the surprise, but...

YES! that is wonderful! all girls like sparklies!

This is great!
Now... what would you do for two young boys? hummm? (The south side of the street is littered with great kids...and for being FLORIDA, you would be surprised how COLD it has been, It has dropped into the teens twice this month.)
