i know you can knit two socks at once on single circular needles but i dont know how to do so can someone please tell me how? thats question one or lead me to a good website that shows how.
my second question is instead of making a pair of socks can i make two hats at once the same way? thank you i really appriciate it.

anyone know? i think any little bit could help. im just really confused and i need to make lots of hats for cancer patients wondering if this will work. thank you

There are youtube videos showing the method with 2 circular needles. I tried it once, but couldn't get nice tight stitches without ladders in the rows. It was faster to make 2 than to attempt to get the stitches perfect with the 2 circulars. Good Luck!

i saw the youtube videos but it never really shows how to do it like step by step. they show the process but thats about it. actually i wouldnt mind a losely knitted hat i think those are pretty

Two socks on one circular needle is called The Magic Loop. You can youtube that. I make 2 socks on 2 circular needles and you can youtube that too! I don't know of a pattern for 2 hats at once, and don't see the point in that. The reason for 2 socks at once is so they stay similar in size and shape and so you don't finish one sock and never go back and knit the second sock!

Hope this helps!

well im doing a big hat project with over a hundred hats so knitting 2 at a time would make things go a lot faster i do 2 hats every 3days so its not that fast. ill check the magic loop out thank you

You knit the same number of stitches for 2 hats, whichever way you do it. Unfortunately, it takes the same amount of time to knit, per hat. So, I'm not sure what advantage you would get from this, for hats.

If it takes you 3 days to make 2 hats now, it should still take you 3 days to make 2 hats. Now, you are making a hat every 1 1/2 days. If you knit them together at the same time, at 1 1/2 days, they would both be half done. At 3 days, they would both be done. So, still 2 hats in 3 days. You would just need to mess with 2 different balls of yarn and keep them untangled as you knit.

Is there any way you could get help from any other knitters in your area or online, if you are having trouble getting all of the hats done in time? I know you are working really hard on this. It's a big job, for one person.

I'm sure you have found your answer already but if you do a search for knitting socks with two circular needles, tons will come up. I agree that it takes just as long to knit two socks(or hats) at the same time as it does if you knit them seperately. The technique works well with socks because if you don't you end up with only one sock. I have a lot of those hanging around in my UFO pile. Now I only do two at a time so I don't get bored and not finish a pair. I love using two circulars because it doesn't feel like you are wrestling with a pocupine as with DPN's. No lost stitches either when traveling.
