Last week we ate at a new restaurant called Cook Out. I didn't expect much because I hate Bk and McDonald's fast food. I was in for such a treat. The food was very good. The milkshakes had bits of fruit in them. And the cheddar style 1/4 was to die for!!

Apparently these restaurants are only in NC

Do any of you have local restaurants that still serve good hamburgers? If I ever travel I want a list of good restaurants that serve things like hamburgers and milkshakes.

McGuire's in Pensacola, FL - It's an Irish Pub, but there's a large section on their menu with burgers as the feature. There are 27 different types of burgers.

Outstanding anything on the menu.

Dari Spot on 129 between Cleveland Ga and Gainesville. The building is run down and dirty but dont let that stop you. The food is great. Also, for chili dogs, Chili Dawgs, outside of Jefferson Ga. Just get the chili dog, no slaw, cheese or anything extra. And great onion rings. Oh, and Brad's in Gainesville. Home of the Messy Burger. And cant forget The Varsity. Plenty of good food but lots of grease. Best one is in downtown Atlanta but the one in Athens is pretty good.

I go in there about once a year and order the Suicide wings they are TO DIE FOR good! Be prepared though...they are hot. They have the mild no sauce sissy wings too if ya can't take the heat. Best food around IMO. Makes ya look like this

They are also the only place I have seen that sells fried green tomatoes MMMMMMMMmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tend to like Red Robin because their burgers smell delicious, but I actually don't like burgers so I usually just get a wrap or salad. I LOVE their fries though, and they are bottomless.

depending on which one you go to gardners in NC are either really good or............ one of my favorites is in buena vista VA right in the middle of town my favorite of all time would have been the little greek restauraunts in old granby mall in downtown Norfolk VA in the late 60's early 70's cheeseburgers were as big as I was

Out here there's a little hamburger joint open for lunch only. Hometown something or other I think, most people just say the white store, names out here mean nothing. It's in an old grocery store. Best burgers I've had in a while, one will kill a burger craving of mine for WEEKS. By that time I have enough room in my stomach for another one
