I have had a few chickens given to me that I've raised from just a few weeks old and was told they were all ladies. One we thought started looking like a rooster because it was always so much bigger compared to the others. That friend came around and said it was definitely a girl. So we named her Lola like the song by the kinks. Now I am doubting if she really is a she. Lola is so large, Is a bit over 7 months old. Doesnt really show dominance yet and gets put in "her" place but the other older chickens we have. What really makes me doubt is we thought we heard one of them crowing this morning or attemtping too. Wasn't a full crow. Any help would be appreciated. Photo hopefully is attached.

"Girls will be boys, and boys will be girls
It's a mixed-up, muddled-up, shook-up world
Except for Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola"

...

"Well I'm not the world's most masculine man
But I know what I am and I'm glad I'm a man
And so is Lola
Lo lo lo lo Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola"

It's a boy. You can tell by the skinny pointy feathers on his neck and the pointy feathers on his saddle (right before his tail). If you look at the hen next to him you can see that her feathers are more rounded.

Thanks everyone!!! Yes very lucky only ended up with one!! Was wondering how to tell, thanks for the info. The name will be staying haha
