7-8 month old hen - has always shown minor signs of respitory distress - but I figured she was stressed by me as she is very skittish. treating her for scaly legs and putting vaseline on her legs causes her to breath hard and loudly. But now she has labored breathing - her whole neck/throat area goes in and out and her tail pumps up and down even when calm. laying just fine, eating just fine, but this sin't good. She is one of 4 pullets I got a few months ago - all of whom had bad leg mites. comb is looking a bit pale to me. clear eyes, normal poop, no nasal discharge.
I did research respitory diseases - but has anyone had any success with treating this?
I do admit coop is extremely dusty as I had raised a flock of 12 chicks there this summer so all that dust from growing feathers- when flock was slaughtered by a dog, I didn't clean it out. I will put everyone out this weekend and cllean it to get rid of the dust.
Other hens and roosters are not showing any respitory distress.
Any suggestions?
thanks
