My Silver laced wyandotte has been making a "choaking" noise. I have wormed her..no response. She's been on tetracycline twice daily for 7 days..no improvment. She does not have runny nose & her eyes are clear.
I think something is trapped in her throat. Her crop feels empty. I have given her a mixture of olive oil, canned cat food & yogurt. no improvment. I have massaged her throat many times. I feel a lump up high in her throat, but assume it is a gland (possibly thyroid) I have been giving her water w a dropper to make sue she is getting water. She scratches around w the other chickens but does not appear to eat. She does not pick up scratch, boiled rice or salmon.
Any ideas other than a $65 vet visit?
