I'm so sorry about Hoover. That's such a traumatic and terrible way to lose a dog. Our lab sometimes gets bloat when she's excited. We're always worried her stomach is going to flip.

Here's Daisy:

How were the puppy years for you? Daisy had to be on a leash in the house till she was 2. Amongst plenty of other things, she ate our couch's entire arm off in literally 10 seconds, she ate our wall, she ate our stair banister, and she ate our floor.

So sorry about your dog. I have a chocolate lab (Chunk) and a black lab/hound mix (Emma). Chunk is definitely has a stocky body. She weighs in around 90lbs too. When we got her at 8 weeks she was 27lbs and all skin. Vet said she is all muscle though. I've only met 2 other chocolate lab females like her. Never had a problem with her in her puppy years, she followed after Emma and Emma is good. Chuck was house-trained in less than 2 weeks. She does have a fascination with wet towels though. Chunk loves the cats and will spend hours snuggled up with them. She has also learned how to pick up a coffee cup off an end table/counter/ dining room table, move it to her bed, and drink out of if without spilling anything. I've never seen her in action, so I have n idea how she does it. She will be 5 this year is just now calming down.

Emma was a rescue. She was abandoned in the nearby big city with a litter of puppies. SPCA found her and picked her up. She was 35lbs when we got here, was afraid of men, hats, bags, brooms, being left alone, and being locked in a room. She did not eat for 3 days and just laid in a corner of the house. She really came out of her shell when my little cousins (4,5,8 at the time) came over. She perked right up and was outside playing with them. Even now, she loves toddlers and babies. She now weighs 75lbs and had helped us raise 5 litters of orphaned kittens. She will lay and keep them warm, stimulate them, and clean them. She still has some issues with men, especially new ones. She just cowers away for a bit and you have to let her come to you. She will be 10 this year.

Here is Chunk the day we brought her home:

I didn't get my Labs as puppys, but Hoover was crazy 'till he got old. I have a hen named Daiy! I can't beleive your dog ate your floor and wall

Lets keep this thread going! This is our new addition, Kane. He is a lab mix. I am thinking collie. But he has red droopy eyes...is this a normal thing? he is only 4.

I thought I'd share some Labrador Eye Candy. These are some of my past babies. I am a Hobby Show Breeder. I am down to one Labrador right now and It has been over 5 years since our last litter and we had hoped to have a summer litter this year but it was not in the cards. We'll try again, but between now and then our fingers are crossed we will be adding a grand pup from one of the boys we bred to our family.
