Dad's out of town now... I mostly use eggs for cooking (not a huge fan of straight eggs).

I can't wait!!!! things taste SO much better with fresh eggs

I got my first egg late September and I'm still smiling about it. Now I'm up to 7-8 per day. I have 25 hens so I'm waiting for the day I get 2 dozen.
I love going in the coop and finding them. My coworkers always ask how many I'm up to. No doubt, this is an addiction.

.My first egg was today!!! I raised 27 chicks, gave 1/2 away and they have been laying for 2 weeks. ::

Well I am jealous. un No eggs yet from my 5 1/2 month old gals. I keep talking to them.... And Mr. Ed keeps jumping on them. It's gotta be soon.

I've heard that sometimes they wait all winter...yikes, I hope that's not the case.

I'll just keep talking... I'm good at it and they seem to like it. Of course I usually have grapes with me.

Congrats on the first eggs!! Ours finally started laying 2 and a half weeks ago, you should of seen the excitement, even my hubby was impressed( and he was so skepticle (sp?) before) Now we're getting 3-4 eggs per day out of 15 hens, we even have one who is laying double yokers.
