I would want them to go broody because I have different types of birds that I need to hatch also I am most likely going to do it where I collect and hatch eggs for a while then let them set a clutch so I can hatch different birds so really I might not get as many as one kind of bird but I will have more overall

Why would this happen? hardier like mother nature does hatch 10 - 2 make it sure I can see that.
Their is so many things that can go wrong with the hen going broody in a pen
unless she is in that pen by herself, wire holes waters other males female rain
weather in general cold hot why would you let them die

The argument that they would be more hardy is 100% true in the fact that they would have way better instincts and you are not going to lose any hen hatched ones if you are prepared and know what your doing

My Swinhoe's hatched this year. Her nest box is 6 foot in the air and the cock stay on the ground and god help me when I have to go into the pen. He's a maniac. She only had two eggs bothboth hatched, male and female chicks.

We only have 26 different true species/subspecies and have had 8 others
that we no longer raise
