I was given a female lady amherst, and she's laid an egg every other day for the past week. The eggs are never in the same place twice, so I don't think she was planning on setting on them. Do they lay eggs like chickens, or is this a seasonal thing? Or could they be fertile (she hasn't been around any other pheasants -male or otherwise) for the last three weeks that I've had her.
Any ideas? Thanks

I really dont think that they would be fertile being that there isnt a cock around for her to mate with. This is their breeding season now. My goldens have been laying for about 3 weeks now. Im in NE Mississippi. They usually lay in a clutch.

No they won't be fertile if she hasn't been "exposed" to a cock. You could always eat them though.

They are seasonal layers. Mine will usually lay from April through June if I keep talking the eggs away so she doesn't set them.

You Can Always Crack 1 Open And See If Its Fertile...

If It Is Then I Would Start Stuffin Them Into A Bator, If Not Well Add A Few More And Make Yourself Breakfast...

How can you tell if the egg is fertile by cracking it open what are you looking for
