Hello All !!

My Golden Comet was sexed as a 'she' but at 3 weeks is showing signs of being a 'he'.
*bigger than the 4 wk olds
*stands taller
*meaty legs (was told breed is dual purpose)
*pronounced comb

Is it possible for a Hen to look like a Roo early on depending on the breed ? Do I just need to wait until I see eggs or hear crows ?

Thanks in advance !

I believe golden comet are a variety of red sex link chicken, in which case she must be a pullet if she is golden colour, but will be a cockerel if white. This is assuming she is a genuine first generation golden comet from a recognised hatchery and not a purchase from a private chicken owner whose ability to raise chicks from their flock exceeds their knowledge of them, as unfortunately sometimes happens, particularly with sex links that are privately sold.

A photo might help us to confirm.

Thank you for your information :) I thought I had added an image, but I may have messed up. Her clutch was ordered from a hatchery through a local feed store. The extras were sold publicly. She's very sweet but definitely runs the flock (2 Barred Rock, 1 RIR, 2 Ameraucana)

I hatched two australorps, one was bigger, bolder and had a bigger comb than the other and feathered in at a different rate. I was sure it was a boy but they are both laying now.
