Lake City Poultry Show-

Well I had TOO MUCH fun at this poultry show today and Me, my mom. and my sister came home with 6 chickens today. My mom still has not decided who is the most to blame becasue she helped pay for them. HEHE

We came with a millie fleur d'uccle hen, a pair of bantam blue cochins, and a trio of of mottled black cochin roo and 2 blue hens. But we had a great time today. I have also found several other breeds I would like to get into.

Hey, Me, too! My son and I took in all the sights. WOW! What a show! Like you said, I have a looong list of wants now.

And we also came home with some new birdies, a matched set of white crested polish (I don't know the official name-black bodies w/white heads) and a Blue Wheaton Old English. Cutest, smallest full grown hen I have ever seen! Smaller than the homing pigeons they had for sale.

There were quite a few bird vendors there, I would have liked to see more equipment dealers, etc.

It was our first time at a show and we had a blast!

we had fun! I gave in and bought 3 marans chicks! I've been oogling people's birds on here and @ a few websites for a while now. It's gonna be a long 6 months waiting for them to lay (

2 out of 3 are girls)

Yup...pretty good show. Many, many birds to look at. I too left the show with a few new wants...and thanks to oldtimegator we are gonna have one of them...new pair of Cochins Bantams!

We also came home with 2 new Marans and 4 OEGB's

I am totally to blame for all of them!!!!

I had a good time also and came home with 4 turkey poults.
I kept asking people if they were backyardchicken people but never did run into anyone.
Did anyone see the lady with the chicken hat on?
I am going to check into getting one of the turkey hats.
well I'm going to bed shortly it has been a long week.

kdcrws---------- dont be surprised if they dont lay at 6 months old, mine are going on 9 months old and I got my 1st egg from them yesterday.............

Did you get em from Bev, if so, what color did ya get?.........


I think we should start a BYC banner or something at these shows. Ive been to a few shows and read on here about the BYC people going, but I never see or run into any, but if we had a banner or something then we would be able to meet and see BYC people..........

I had my BYC shirt on and only had one person know what that was ( it was one of the marans ladies) Everybody I talked to I mentioned BYC to and told them to check it out.

Pretty little blue Cochin! I didn't buy any birds (couldn't find any BL Polish), but I did get 1/2 dozen Wheaten Marans eggs from Bev Davis.
