Anyone have any of Meyer Hatchery's Lakeshore Eggers? I was hoping to add some Olive Eggers to our flock to add some more color to our egg basket but all the online hatcheries seemed to be sold out of them. So I opted for the Lakeshores instead.

What color eggs are you getting? Share some pictures of your hens! I'm curious what they will look like (not very attractive per their page! LoL!)

I too am curious about these birds. I'm moving and will be getting some new chicks soon. I'm going with Meyers because so far as I have seen they are the only hatchery that will ship less than five chicks (local ordinances limit me to four). One of the four may be one of their Lakeshores because of their blue-green eggs and they are advertised as being a "lap bird"..

I'm following too! Love that they are autosexing as well, hope that means less chance of a boy. I am still sad about having to re-home my surprise cockerel.

Be sure to talk to someone at Meyer, and see if they include a "meal maker" chick with small orders like yours. We ordered 6 but received 7, they sent an extra chick in the order. A free "meal maker". We were thrilled to get her, but you may not be.

If they normally do and I'm ordering four can't I just request they do not send any "freebies"?
Yes, the meal maker is an opt on/out thing....simple check (or not) of a box. "Packing peanuts" are a separate issue. For small orders they can often be avoided by paying a nominal amount for a heat pack
