Deciding that all was calm, Kate left the cave and shifted back into her normal self. She headed up the slope to her den for the night.

Valhalla slipped out of the shadows as soon as she was out of sight and unlocked the prison door. As one of Kate's loyal team members, she had entrusted him with a key. The door opened silently on well-oiled hinges.
