Maria shut her eyes briefly "And how do we know we can trust you?" She said finally.

Kate shrugged "You don't. But the only other options are to fight with Vlad, or be destroyed by him."

Evander frowned "Maria, she has a point."

Maria nodded slowly "As long as my pups will be safe, we will join you, Kate."

"Wise decision" Kate said approvingly "Your pups will be safe."

Lark slowly inched out of the entrance "Vlad?" He whispered

One of the Owls ruffled her feathers, watching Lark from a tree.

Lark looked around. "I see I'm not alone" Looking directly at the owl

The Owl looked at him and blinked, seeming like any other Owl.

"Maybe I'm hallucinating" He mumbled

 

[HollyBird24]

The Owl blinked again, its large yellow eyes staring right at Lark.

"This has been a long day but something just isn't right about that owl"

 

[HollyBird24]

The Owl spred its wings and dropped from the branching, gracefully gliding over the castle and disappearing among the mountains.



Maria, Evander, Kate and the pups were making their way across the ice.

"That was strange" Lark thought as he tried to find where the owl had gone
