As many as were killed, dozens more took their place, swarming inside the the other animals and attacking the enemies with outstretched claws.

Electrical forcefields surrounded Garron, Haylei, and all of the smokewolf's allies, electrocuting the animals if they came too close. Several other bolts of lightning identical to the one that had been shot before shot again, killing every single replacement and the replacements after them.

(If they are killing the animals, they are killing everything in the cave...)
 
(My chars aren't in the cave, and I think that Faedon, Garron, Haylei, and Daruk are out too)
 
(I was deciding on what I should give them; at the time I didn't have any ideas besides Cairo's)
