The stranger tossed a small can onto the ground, rolling it towards the guards. It exploded with a loud bang, knocking the guards backwards and filling the room with a thick black smoke. He grabbed Vlad and pulled him towards the exit, unseen by the guards through the smoke.
 
Wolves, Tigers, and Bears held weapons. The Hawks, Eagles, and Snowy Owls got ready to take flight if the prisoners ran.

"By command of Gen. Odasa and the Head Council, you are to remain here as prisoners." A guard snarled.

Hawks that had stayed outside saw them and flew after them. "Halt in the name of the Head Council!" They screeched.
 
"Not this time" Vlad threw a chain around the foot of one of the hawks. He spun quickly throwing the hawk into the others.
