Hawks that had stayed outside saw them and flew after them. "Halt in the name of the Head Council!" They screeched.

The stranger whipped around, throwing a wall of dark magic that forced them backwards. He hooked his hindpaws around Vlad and took off into the air, circling around the top of the prison where the smoke wasn't so thick "Bloody idiots" He cursed under his breath as a Hawk whipped past him.
