Jack was sitting rather awkwardly with his back up against the stone wall. He was in a deep sleep.

Zenobia remained in a light slumber

Jack suddenly jerked awake, as though he had woken from a particularly disturbing dream. He looked over and spotted Zenobia, his jaws parting in a massive yawn.

She remained sleeping but began to stir

Jack hastily looked around, searching the cave for an exit.

The rustling of the dirt floor alarmed her. She growled lowly to herself

Jack cast a quick glance in her direction, but continued searching as quiet as he could.

She began to rise slowly.

 

[HollyBird24]

Not finding one, Jack sprang at her before she could collect her wits. He growled, raking his claws across her flank.
