The next wave rocketed through the sky, slamming into Zenobia as the first had and forced her to the ground.

"Garret, your up!" Sara shouted across the courtyard, bounding across the long grass and to the outskirts of the small city. "Force her back!"

Gorgos's wings were stiff, audible cracks rippling across the dead plains as he flapped his wings. His squadron of 11 bats met him, and they flapped in the direction of the city, closing in quickly. Murk roared, ramming his head into and through the gates, his once-soft skin now as tough as a rhino's.

Mali had been flying above, and she performed a nose dive and cannoned into several rebels not far from Murk.
