Has anyone out there used this? I ordered a 1 ton load to be delivered to my grain bin. It's 18% protein, which I like.

I've been using Nutrena, with good results, but want to get feed in bulk.

1 ton delivered is $340.

Looks like your the first to use the Land OLakes Egg maker feed:/ Hope it works well for you! We only have 13 hens, and on our suburban property we have no room to store a ton of feed...but it sounds like a great idea:D

If my math skills are good today that's less than $9.oo per 50 lbs of feed. Let us know how it works and if laying is effected. Definately a good price you got as long as you have storage room.

Yes, $8.50/50# to be exact.

A neighbor of mine uses it for their poultry. Their birds are healthy and lay very well, so I think this will work! And no more lugging 4-5 bags of feed per week!

I have connections!!!

Really, I live down the road from a guy that raises peafowl for a couple of hatcheries. I would have had custom grinding done if I didn't know my neighbor had his delivered.

May I inquire as to how many cubic feet a ton of chicken feed takes up?

Id also like to know how many birds you are feeding, and how long 1 ton of feed is expected to last?

(I am a backyard farmer, I picture a guy with 3 teeth and a chicken on his hat showing up in a '70s 5-yard dumptruck and dumping a pile of dusty feed in the driveway, that I would have to shovel into a wheelbarrow and then into a stoarge box . . .)

But man, $8.50/50# is an incredible price!
I dont think Id need a ton of food in a year for my projected flock of 10-12 birds.
But thats still less than 1/2 what I pay for a bag, maybe it can be sold on CL . . .
