Landlord won't allow chickens, I need to do it Undercover!!!

If you become the BEST tenant he's ever had and cause him zero trouble, I bet anything you can get him to let you have a couple of chickens. Being a landlord is a major headache, and finding a good tenant is like finding gold. What most landlords pray for is someone who simply causes them no headaches -- and then they pray that tenant will stick around forever. If you've proven you're one of those tenants, he's quite likely to want to keep you and be willing to take a small risk, especially if you can show him how small that risk really is. Find someone nearby who is keeping a very small flock well -- clean coop, no smell, no noise, doesn't look messy -- and show him their setup. Discuss how much less likely damage from chickens is likely to be than damage from dogs. Tell him you love living in his house and (without making it sound like an ultimatum) that you'd like to stay but you miss having chickens terribly, and that you're considering when your lease is up moving somewhere you can keep chickens.

In general, I'm a person who believes it's much easier to seek forgiveness than permission, but this isn't a good case for that. There are just too many ways for it to backfire on you.

How much of a yard do you have and how close to the land lord is the nextdoor neighbor and how close are you to him/her and how often will the owners be around to check on things?  You know, I'm 100% behind you and I don't even consider chickens to be pets, but livestock and a useful animal; I even call mine lawnmowers. 

You know, I would start with the garden and pray about this and think of reasons that a chicken would help maintain the yard, provided you set it up right and then present it to the landlord after you develope a good relation with him/her.  I know my momma would have been really upset if one of her tenants had broken one of her rules, and she could get mad real good. 

Maybe your plan could work, but I would keep track of how often your inspections will be and come up with an excuse if you get caught.  I guess you have time.  Believe me, I completely understand.  Anyone on the forum would at that.

First and foremost let me point out (in LOVE), that praying about it and asking God and then suggesting that they still lie to their Landlord are at odds with each as far as advice goes. You need to do one or the other, pray and WAIT for gods answer (WHILE doing your due diligence, creating a good relationship with the landlord and thinking of ways you can approach him with this idea) OR you take it from God and bring your desire to fruition through your own means. It's especially true that wen we Lie (even ommition is a lie or do something else to artfiicially create a situation through HUMAN means and understanding (especially to bring about a desire) God can't have any part in it any longer, and he leaves us to our own designs. As if to say "you didn't really want to know what I think or want for you (remember He MAY have something better, or different in mind if He doesn't give you what you want right away) you only wanted the answer you were looking for"...... Bad way to start out a tenant relationship and think of the stress of having to hide the lie, you want to be able to ENJOY your chickens not stress over the neighbors or getting caught!!
