Lap chicken

Hey! New to BYC and raising chickens. Just curious how to train them to be "lap chickens " They will eat out of our hands etc, but the kids are anxious to have a new best friend

and gentle handing, no grabbing or squeezing. Individual chicks/birds may be much more sociable than others

Agree with everything already said, I also found it helpful to just spend time sitting with them and getting them used to you without trying to pick them up all the time. Eventually, some will hop up on your lap as soon as you sit down, while others prefer to keep their distance. It really depends on the bird. Good luck!
