Lap chicken

I am new to raising chickens and when I moved my girls one of them got hurt. With the help of the amazing people here I am happy to say she is doing much better. However she has become a lap chicken in the process. I never knew that chickens had such personality and could become demanding about what they want or that they become attached to a human. This little lady has and is teaching me a lot!

Some chickens actually prefer being "house chickens." My friend Arline may have "pioneered" that movement over 30 ago. She has had chickens in the house sometimes one, sometimes up to 3.

Put a towel or something between her and you clothes or your waching machine will get very busy

Glad she's better! Yeah, my DP, NewBoots is VERY DELIBERATELY raising lap chickens. I call the BO one "Cuddle Chicken"...then I laugh because she very adamantly told me (before we had chickens) that she "wasn't interested in raising chickens that wanted to sit on her lap our shoulder!" <snicker>
