I dont have that HP laptop but the HP Pavilion dv7-1285dx I love it!!!!!!!!!

I worked on an HP pavilion laptop recently and I know they had some some serious design flaws. There is too much crammed into the chasis and the video chip would overheat and "unseat" itself. I wouldn't suggest an amd processor for a laptop. Try to find one with at least an intel i3. If you do end up going with it, get some sort of cooling station to set it on.

I have had an HP dv-6 for about 3 years now and it is still working great! I have never gone wrong buying HP.
