Yes, I had to rethink the humidity thing when I first started hatching silkies this year. The fella I got them from told me he incubated them at 50-60% on days 1-18.
I've only hatched large fowl and did them 40-50% on those days. I thought no way am I going to do 50-60% on these silkies eggs and did them like I normally do until I candled them on day 14 and the air cell took up a 3rd of the egg!
So I increased the humidity back up to what he told me and they hatched fine.
But this is what works for me, I've seen folks on this forum incubate silkies successful at the lower humidities, too.
