Life just jumps up and bites you every now and then doesn’t it. Hopefully you got the temperature right this time. It’s hard to believe that the difference in levels makes that much difference but it can in a still air.

Reason I’m posting, don’t worry too much about the hand turning the big eggs the last couple of days. The eggs really don’t need to be turned after 14 days. It doesn’t hurt them and it’s usually convenient to quit turning them at 18 days since that’s when you normally take them out of the turner, but there really is no need after 14 days.

I got that from a professor at the University of Arkansas Poultry Science department. He’s one of the top poultry reproduction specialists in the country. I trust him.

You are going to run into something else too when you take them out of the turner. Where are you going to put them, back on the bottom of the incubator? It’s cooler down there. At that stage they are generating a lot of heat themselves so it should not be a problem. Nobody ever worries about that and it’s not a problem, but since you had that other problem I thought you might get concerned so I thought I’d mention it.

Good luck with the hatch. I’m about 2-1/2 weeks away from cranking up my incubator.

I just got some eggs and I don't know what the letters stand for. BAM? BCH? I know that EE is easter egger and BCM is my black copper marans. But I need help

i think there is a list of them if you go to advanced search. i THINK i saw it. and dont feel left out, i just figured out rir road island red. about a month ago. hahahahha
