LARGE black hens that lay rich brown eggs

our ba lays a tinted egg its not white but not quite brown i would say its more of a creamish tanish color never had the other 2

Well, I have a white Jersey Giant from McMurray, and she is just my favorite girl. She is quiet, lays very consistently nice medium brown (not dark though) large eggs. I'd say you can't go wrong getting some JG anyway, they are worth a try! I do have some BA from McMurray this year, but they are still chicks so I can't say for sure what color their eggs will be or how large they will get.

I have some that look just like this, they are black Austalorps. I noticed on mine, especially the roosters that they had little down like feathers between their toes. Do yours?

blk aussie's arent supposed to have any feathers an on part of their legs like that

Growing up, my cousins owned about 8 large black hens(they were HUGE, larger than Rhode Islands and Buff Orpingtons), and they laid a nice XLG brown egg. The egg was dark, not tinted, and had a pink hue to it. Does anyone know what breed this is? The hens looked like this:

This particular hen looks like she may be a bantam, but this is the body shape they had. I don't remember the leg color, all I remember are the bright red single combs, and plump large bodies. I know the guy they got them from only ordered through Murray McMurray Hatchery. The only breeds I could come up with are Black Giants(but body shape does not match) or Black Australorps(egg color does not match).

Any ideas?
Brandon
They were Black Orpingtons
