Large bloody mass on my hens butt! What is this?

Have you tried pushing the prolapse back in? Since she laid an egg this morning, that would be good to try. Sometimes it can take many times before it will stay in, and you may have to hold it for a time each try. Every time she poops or strains it may come back out. If it won't stay in then this thread shows how to make a sling to help hold it in longer. If you keep her in a dark room then that will help discourage her from laying (takes some time) which will give her time to rest. Do make sure to keep the tissue moist with whatever you've chosen to use, it mustn't dry out.

Thank you. No I haven't tried to push it back in, it's so big, I didn't think it would be a good idea. I was hoping it would shrink a little bit, but it doesn't seem to be going down any. Will it hurt her if I try to push it that big into her?

Just push gently and consistently, see if it will go back in. You can use a hydrocortisone cream also, if you have it, that may help swelling also.
