. I am selling eggs, but i really just love chickens, selling eggs is a reason to have ALOT of chickens and different breeds. who else has large flocks?

I used to have over 100 chickens and like you, it was because I sold eggs. It's a good excuse to go a little overboard

I have a large flock of expensive fluffy orpingtons because... Well, I guess I have some sort of orpington hoarding disorder. I don't sell eggs even. I just love fluffy chickens.

Granted feeding a desert flock is pricier but I'd welcome $68. Each bird costs nearly $4 a month to feed and straw up. 300+/-

wow I'm on the low end hahahaha ... all but 12 of mine are babies ..does it become overwhelming or am I gonna keep adding

I'm increasing my flock. I'd like to maintain 40 good hens.
Don't know if you call that a large backyard flock or not. Actually they're all over the front and back yard.
I hatch my own so I keep the best & eat the rest. I went through about 100 chickens last year.
The most I had at 1 time was 60 but I culled them back to 40. I still need to cull about 20 more roosters & undesirable hens to make room for the 3 dozen nice eggs cooking in the electric hen right now.
I'll probably go through 100+ chickens this year.
