Large swelling under vent?

This may sound dumb, but I watch the Amazing Dr. Pol, a good show IMO and he takes care of every kind of animal there is. With that in mind, could it just be a cyst? Seen him drain many of them on that show on all kinds of animals including poultry. One that come to mind is a turkey that had one size wise the same but along the thigh and going under to the belly area. Just a thought for you to ponder. From what you say she is acting normal and does't have any of the symptoms listed in the article

This seems too extreme for ascitis. Looks more like her organs have been pushed down and/or something tumor related.

Can you wet down the feathers and get a photo, so we can see the skin clearly?
What does it feel like when you palpate it? Is it very watery, mushy like intestines, or totally firm?

Ok, so it's been awhile....little Oreo has been acting normal but her belly is growing, she has lost a good deal of weight and is no where near as active as she was. Doesn't seem to be in pain but I'm afraid if I let her go any longer she will be in pain

I think a vet might be the right course of action they can evaluate and if this is something that can't be treated do the humane thing. I guess she has a hard time carrying that extra weight what ever it may be. :(

Unfortunately, we don't have any avian vets around and we decided to put her down before she showed any signs of discomfort. . It was an enormous hernia, no idea how that poor girl was still laying eggs! I'm comfortable with the decision as I know she would not have recovered but I still feel pretty awful.
