Should be a delicious plate!

So far so good. By penning them up every night, I assume its working since I haven't lost any more birds. Still working on lining the fence with extra wire.

I am so sorry. We have a trailer we lock ours in at night and they do go right in. They slept out a couple nights and the toms are close to 30lbs. now hens prob. a good 20lbs. and I still worried all night.

It sounds like a skunk or opposum to me.They are known for eating heads.
You should think about a havahart trap baited with sardines. If you do have a predator it will go for the sardines first.Won't work on a hawk though, but I think you got a skunk. It will keep coming back now that it knows where food is.
That driveway alert is a good idea,I never thought about that.I got a bear problem right now and I'm afraid to put my meatbirds out in their tractor.Almost nothing is bear proof. But the driveway alarm may work for me. good luck Will

Would you believe I lost another 3 month old turkey last night! arghh. I was dumb enough to think if it was roosting with it's mother 4.5 feet up that it would be safe. I had the porch lights on, I was inside, and the turkey was 25 feet away from me. Around midnight a fox must have snuck up and jumped up and grabbed it. Needless to say both mommas and the 4 remaining half-grown poults are sleeping in the hen house tonight.

I talked to a fox trapper today but he can't trap them out of season (til end of Oct). I put up extra wire fencing on 2 sides of the pasture but still have another 100 feet to go. I'm also going to try to borrow a dog for 2 months and keep him out by the pasture.

one much, thanks, I think i'm going to get two of those sensors. by the way, does the chime scare the predator away, or does it just alert you to go out and scare the predator off?

All I have is chickens but my pitbull and german shepherd do a good job keeping away the critters. If i didnt have them i would have lost probably all of them.

it will do both,, scare the pred. and alert you,,, make sure you open the box and on the back of them they have a channel # , make sure you get 2 that are the same #,,OR, if you get 2 different #'s, you know which 1 picked up the pred. and head in that direction.,, and lights dont do ANYTHING to a pred. except make it easier for them to see your birds. and make sure it doesnt "pick up" your birds, or every time they move it'll go off,,, and their good for about 400 feet, so dont point it towards a road,,hehe
